you really can't tell because each zebra has a different amount of stripesIt depends on the species of zebra... "The common (or plains) zebra has 26 stripes per side, the mountain zebra has 43 stripes per side, and the Grevy's zebra has 80 stripes per side."That all depends on the individual zebra. Some zebras have more stripes than others, so the numbers wouldn't exactly be the same for every zebra on the African Plains. The number of stripes on each zebra varies since each has an individual pattern, so there is no answer for this question.

If the stripes are located on the lower arm and are better described as slashes (just above the wrist) those are indicators of time in the service. Each slash represents 3 years in the Army and 4 years per slash in the Marine Corps.

The components of the cable: The cable: This is a Teflon coated cable containing 8 solid cores of wire. Each of the individual cables is covered in it's own insulation and they are paired up. They are colour coded on their insulation in this way: Orange with white stripes, white with orange stripes, blue with white stripes, white with blue stripes, green with white stripes, white with green stripes, brown with white stripes and white with brown stripes. Each colour pair (for example both the orange) are twisted round each other at around 7 twists per foot of cable. This is to help reduce interference. The connectors: These are small plastic plugs with 8 metal (normally gold-plated) contacts. These are normally crimped onto the end of the cable using a crimp-tool.
