He had four sons but only one survived past 18 years old, his eldest son, Robert. Thomas ("Tad") got sick and died when he was 18; William and Edward both died as young children. Also, Lincoln's wife Mary Todd survived, and she died about 17 years after the assassination.

Robert eventually had children of his own. His grandson, who was President Lincoln's great grandson, died childles about 30 years ago and was the last living descendent of Abraham Lincoln, so the lineage died with him.

However, a woman from Germany who was the great grandson's second wife, claimed she had his baby (which would've been highly unlikely considering he had a vasectomy several years before he married her). During their divorce, she was ordered by the court to do blood tests to prove that the baby was his; she refused, and court declared him not to be the father.
