A vice-president who becomes president with less than two years remaining in the original President's Term may be elected to two full Terms of his/her own, thus being president for ten years minus one day.

Had Lyndon Johnson run and won the 1968 election, and lived through January 20,1973, he would have been President for nine years and two months, November 22, 1963-- January 20, 1973. Only LBJ had that opportunity.
