If a desert would receive more than 10 inches (250 mm) of rain per year on average consistently over many years it would no longer be considered a desert.
Not a lot, but it all depends on the weather patterns. But it wont rain all the time it is quite unlikely to rain frequently.
The Savanna is not a desert. It is a region of semi-arid grassland and receives more rain than a desert.
