The university of Alaska has five time zones that run through it
There are 4 time zones in the continental US. Alaska and Hawaii each have their own time zone.
Alaska is divided between only two time zones, Alaska Standard Time/ Alaska Daylight Saving Time (UTC-9/UTC-8) and Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time/ Hawaii-Aleutian Daylight Saving Time (UTC-10/UTC-9).
9
Six time zones are present in the 48 Contiguous US States and all Canadian provinces. Four are shared between the two countries while two are present only in Canada. If you want to include Alaska, then there are eight time zones (Alaskan and Aleutian). And if including Hawaii, the number stays at eight since Hawaii is on the same time as the Aleutian Islands.
Five time zones will be crossed from Hawaii to Guam. Hawaii is in the Hawaii-Aleutian Time Zone (UTC -10), and Guam is in the Chamorro Time Zone (UTC +10).
Not as many as Hawaii!
There are 2 US states that have no common border with any other state. These are Alaska and Hawaii. The remaining states are collectively considered the 48 "lower" or "contiguous" states. (Alaska would be considered the 49th continental state.)Hawaii is an island, and Alaska has a land border only with Canada, which is a different country.
None. Hawaii is in the middle of the ocean by itself and Alaska shares a border with Canada.
Hawaii moves about 3 inches closer to Alaska each year
The United States purchased Alaska from Russia in 1867 and annexed Hawaii in 1898. This means there were 31 years between the acquisition of Alaska and the annexation of Hawaii.
The continental United States includes five time zones. The time zones in the "contiguous" 48 states are Eastern Standard Time, Central Standard Time, Mountain Standard Time, and Pacific Standard Time. Alaska is in the "continental" U.S. and has Alaska Standard Time Zone. Hawaii is not in continental U.S. It uses Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time Zone.
