How many times a day does a guinea pig need feeding?

You should provide a good hay at all times (mixture grass and clover is good), a bowl full of dry commercial feed pellets a day and fresh veggies at least a couple of times a week, preferably every day.

Everyday the correct amount for the amount of Guinea pigs you have. When it comes time to feed them dunp out the remaing food because they will not eat it and it will be bad for them. If you end up dumping out way, way too much then you are over feeding them. (You will always have food you have to dump out, if you dont you arent feeding them enough).

I would at least feed it once a day, but check and make sure your piggy has food throughout the day, it could be very hungry and eat a lot, or graze on the food over the whole day, guinea pigs are not like dogs you don't feed them and then take their food away, you can leave it in their cage, they won't over feed themselves. Get a couple of good books from your vet, pet store, or library and learn about the different types of food piggies can and can't eat. Certain vegetables are very important, as well as having constant access to a specific type of hay called timothy. Timothy provides nutrients that are important to a piggy's diet as well as the rough texture needed to keep their teeth in good condition. Be careful when buying commercially-prepared foods; some less-expensive brands dilute timothy with alfalfa but the latter isn't nutritionally suitable.

Also make sure they have water too, the bottle could leak or they could get very thirsty and run out of water, so if you leave for the day check their food supply right when you leave and right when you get home, or if you are at home you can check on them periodically. They like to see you often especially if you only have one guinea pig because it could get lonely. :-)

PS: different pigs eat different amounts of food. you may learn this about your piggy that one eats a lot and one eats less, I learned this about my Piggies.

Some vegetables can be given on a daily basis (once per day for example):
