Washing a gerbil is normally only done when a gerbil is going to be competitivly shown or needs to get wounds washed (only to be done by a vet). Nearly all pet gerbils will never have to be washed. Do not wash your gerbil without advise from your vet.

you don't need to if you have another gerbil because they clean each other :)

When handling your pet gerbil it is extremely important to take safety pro cautions. Always wash your hands before and after interaction. Not only should you handle your gerbil with care but too also shove it in your pants. Do this once or twice a day with your gerbil and the two of you will have the best relationship with your pet. enjoi!
