Answer:

The crudely worded question assumes that God is imperfect and subject to error... when it is man who "screws up" in life as he experiences it -- and by which he should be learning and growing in Godly character, wisdom and knowledge.

It's supposed to be mankind's goal to "become perfect" as his Creator instructs:

"...when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before Me, and be thou perfect." (Gen.17:1)

God expected "imperfection" [screw-ups] on the part of man, since he made him flesh and blood... knowing that, in the course of his experience in living life, he would end up selling himself to the god of this world -- that man might also learn the opposite of perfection: evil. Without it, his education is incomplete.

Indeed, man's "screw-ups" [not God's] changed things. The perfect world God created for him "changed." It became polluted and abused.

The lessons of God's Perfect Love, became muddled and obscured in man's mind and heart by his god. Men hated other men... became envious, jealous, suspicious of others. Men learned to "fear."

The world "changed"... and men's "screw-ups" have never stopped.

But God did indeed "plan for it" through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to "redeem man from his screw-ups"... and to purchase man back from the god to whom he sold himself.

God's plan provides a "repentant" man [a man who is sorry for his screw-ups against his Creator] a way to remove all of his screw-ups from his "permanent record" [as they used to tell us in school].

He showed us His selfless Love by shedding His Divine Blood for His creation... that man might learn from Him. And it "changed" things... and set the world on course for the endgame: to ultimately remove all the "screw-ups"... and restore God's Perfection to the universe.

"Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me..." (Matt.11:29).

"...Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write: for these Words are TRUE and FAITHFUL." (Rev.21:5)

God didn't make His changes "randomly" as the question suggests. It's always been His plan. All the changes He has made [and will continue to make] will all come in "due time" as His plan unfolds.

"...in due time Christ died for the ungodly." (Rom.5:6)

Which "changed" things -- in the hearts and minds of those whom God is calling... awakening their spirits [minds and hearts] to His Perfection... and to the True source by which men might overcome their "screw-ups."

"...now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed." (Rom.13:11)

God doesn't "screw-up"... man does. And we can thank God that His timed plan for our salvation through Jesus Christ, and the blotting out of our screw-ups exists.

"...when the fulness of time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law [to 'change' their status], that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, ABBA, Father." (Gal.4:4-6)

"He that overcometh shall inherit all things [the universe]; and I will be his God, and he shall be MY SON." (Rev.21:7)

Instead of "blaming God" for all of His "screw-ups" -- men might want to "change" their attitudes about this screwed up world we've created as a result of our own -- and turn to the God of Perfection and His Word, that we might learn to "become Perfect" as He is.

"All Scripture... is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in Righteousness: that the man of God may be [become] Perfect, throughly [thoroughly] furnished unto all good works." (II Tim.3:16-17)

God has never "screwed-up." It's always been [and still is] imperfect man who has fumbled and stumbled throughout his generations, obeying the lies and deceit of his chosen god and losing himself in his vain pursuits... instead of pursuing God's Perfection.

Why did the Catholics make changes in the Catholic Bible?

Roman Catholic AnswerThere have never been any changes to the Bible, the Catholic Church does not believe it has the right to tamper with God's received Word. The only changes that have been made to the Bible are by the protestants who threw out various books of the Bible which did not agree with what they taught and believed, and rewrote what they could not throw out, or in the case of Martin Luther with the Epistle of James, for instance, he just disparaged it.
