Around 8 million metric tons go into the oceans each year, according to the first rigorous global estimate published in Science today. That’s equivalent to 16 shopping bags full of plastic for every meter of coastline.
It is estimated that around 8 million tons of plastic waste enter the ocean each year. This pollution has a detrimental impact on marine life and ecosystems. Efforts to reduce plastic waste and improve waste management practices are crucial to mitigate this environmental issue.
There is only one mid-ocean ridge in each ocean.
No ocean crosses the Pacific Ocean. The Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean meet each other, but don't cross each other. Like all oceans, around its edges there are many seas, but they don't cross the Pacific Ocean.

Some plastic is being recycled; some plastic is going into landfills; some is scattered around cities and countrysides around the world; and a great deal of plastic from all over the world has been collecting in the Pacific Ocean for many years creating the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. There is also evidence that plastic is also collecting in the Atlantic Ocean. See the links below.
