sadly, and luckily, the Grateful Dead's only top ten hit was "touch of grey" which only reached 7th place on the Billboard charts
The official logo of Grateful Dead using the skull in the center does spell out the band's name. It is the word 'Grateful' in a semicircle on the top of a skull in a circle and 'Dead' in a semicircle across the bottom of the circle. A few variations of this logo were used on different album covers for the Grateful Dead.

They are known for their acid (LSD) because the chemists all took an LSD class at Berkley University in the 60s when it was legal. There is also a band known as The Grateful Dead. People are known to tripp on acid at the shows.
Not sure about "sale" but I would think the Grateful Dead are close to the top of perfoarmances
