A nation is a large group of people who share a common culture, language, and often a government. For example, "The United States is a nation made up of people from many different backgrounds."
The new government the colonists created established stability and difficulties for the new nation. Many people did not understand the reason to pay taxes to run the government. The laws helped to keep order and maintain stability.
They did not know how many people should rule the nation.

The Potawatomi tribe primarily inhabited Indiana during the late 17th century and into the 18th and early 19th centuries. They were part of the Great Lakes region and established villages along rivers and near lakes in Indiana. However, following pressure from European settlers and U.S. government policies, many Potawatomi were forcibly removed from their lands in the 1830s. By the mid-19th century, most had relocated to what is now Kansas and Oklahoma.
Many tribes signed the removal treaties. However, the Cherokee Nation refused and fought the government in courts.
A nation. It is within a nation that 'the State' (or the government) is separated-out from private enterprise or the home. Also, within a nation, there may be many provinces, sometimes called States.
