wheatstone's bridgeI assume you are referring to AC & DC Wheatstonebridges
Bridge diodes are generally used in a bridge rectifier to convert AC into DC.
You rectify AC voltage through a diode bridge to convert it to DC.
if you build an arch bridge it can hold more weight then anyother type of toothpick bridge and can hold about 20lbs (if made well) another good type of bridge is the truss bridge it is just as strong as the arch bridge but it has diffrent structures.
Total cost to make a bridge rectifier is about Σ25. A bridge rectifier is an electrical device that converts alternating currents (AC) to direct current (DC). The process of bridge rectification is a simple one using four diodes, two AC and two DC wires, an AC source and pliers.

DC Bridge... We use DC supply, Detector is also a DC current detector and we use only resistive components no need for wegner's earthing device balancing time is comparatively less.. where as in AC bridges opposite of above. i.e. AC supply, AC current detector resisitive+ reactive componants need for wagner's earthing device and balancing time is high as we use AC supply..
The newest type of bridge is a cable-stayed bridge
This type of rectifier circuit will conduct current trough a load both times during the AC positive and negative cycle

It is a suspension bridge.
