There are three groups of animals called pandas.

The Giant panda and the Qinling panda, a subspecies of the giant panda, are members of the bear family.

The red panda is in its own family and is more closely related to weasels and raccoons than to bears.

There are two Pandas. One is called the Giant Panda, it's scientific name is (Ailuropoda melanoleuca). They are well known for their fuzzy black and white hair, round head and barrel shaped body with black eye patches. The second is called the Red Panda, or the Lesser Panda, it's scientific name is (Ailurus fulgens). They are the cousin to the Giant Panda.
