Most of the military hotels have now transformed into Chettinad hotels as these restaurants primarily deal with Chettinad cuisine. Only a few of these restaurants have retained their "Military" tag. Chettinad is a region in Sivaganga district of southern Tamilnadu. Chettinad cuisine is the cuisine of Chettiar community in this region.
