Two words in your question require clarification: war and involved. The original answer was not wrong in pointing out that any conflict that the UN is involved in, the US is involved in.

But what qualifies as a war these days? Is it a war when the common usage (or even legal declaration) uses the word "War"? Or is there still some world-wide-accepted definition to rely on?

For instance, is the socalled "Mexican Drug War" (the term used in Wikipedia) a War? Or 'just' Civil Unrest? And now that the "Iraq war" is over and the country is still embroiled in war-like fighting caused by what is termed "Iraq Insurgency", is the Iraq War really over?

Given that the terms are ill-defined (and no, I do not have a clean definition of war or involved to offer), here is a list of armed conflicts in which the US has at least some direct involvement:

LRA Insurgency, a shooting 'war' that has been going on in Uganda and leaking into the Central African Republic and Democratic Republic of Congo since 1987. The US got involved in 2011, perhaps for the better, since the LRC (Lord's Resistance Army) leader Joseph Kony's whereabouts are currently unknown, and the death toll last year was <25, and this year, as of this writing, 0.

"War on Terror", with specific theatres:

Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) - Trans Saraha (2007-)

OEF - Horn of Africa (2002-)

OEF - Philippines (2002-)

There have been other theatres, but these are currently still active.

War in Northwest Pakistan (2004-) which started when the Taliban and al-Qaeda were driven mostly out of Afghanistan.

Al-Qaeda Insurgency in Yemen (2010-) This one is oddly-titled: al-Qaeda began to establish cells in Yemen in 2001, but even before that were performing terror attacks (i.e. 2000 bombing of USS Cole). In 2010, Yemen declared open war on al-Qaeda as well as juggling a shia insurgency to the north and militant separatists in the south. The US has provided drone and missile support since 2002, but has no "boots on the ground".

War in Afghanistan (2001-) Now the US's longest-running war, it is really just a continuation of the 'Afghanistan Conflict', which began in 1978. Russia entered the war in 1979 and left in 1989, having paid dearly in Russian lives (14,453 in 10 years). The US entered Afghanistan to deal with al-Qaeda and the Taliban, and has been there for 13 years, at this writing, at a cost of over 3000, but so far less than 3500 American soldiers, but with an additional loss of over 1100 contractors. The Afghani have suffered far more, with fatalities in the millions since 1978, massive (1/3 of the country's population) exodus into neighboring countries, etc. etc. etc.

Finally, when "Involved" includes providing arms, ammo, and other support, we can add the US to nearly every armed conflict in the Middle East, along with the "Mexican Drug War". Since 2009, this has included:

South Sudanese Conflict

Syrian Civil War

Egyptian "Crisis"

all of which are still ongoing.
