The Christmas Season begins with the Vigil Mass on Christmas Eve and ends with Epiphany. Epiphany was originally celebrated on January 6 and was a holy day of obligation. That would make Christmas 12 days long. Remember the song 'The Twelve Days of Christmas? That is where it originated.
