Good question. I was just looking up Motley Crue tabs and videos, and a lot of people "state" the tuning as being just drop D. As a result, many of the guitar music tabs are wrong too. I believe the correct answer is for most, if not all, songs such as: Girls, girls, girls, Wild Side, Kick Start My Heart...) DROP ALL strings down one whole step. D-G-C-F-A-D.
