There are many bands that would fit in the pop metal genre. Some of the more well know ones are Kiss, Motley Crue, Van Halen, Def Leppard and Meatloaf.
Chevelle is considered an Alternative band. Chaos Killed is a smaller band, without a label. Breaking Benjamin is a Rock/Metal/Alt Metal band.
Well the two bands are different genres but All Time Low is considered Pop Punk and Framing Hanley is kind of Alternative Rock.

There's no such thing as "Pop Metal" - most such bands play Glam Rock, or, as is becoming more common, they play Pop music thinly veiled with guitar riffs in a weak attempt to pass it off as Metal.

One Direction is classified under the genre of "POP" therefore their music is Pop. So One Thing is Pop.

Loud Rocks is pretty cool. However, it features mostly rap with nu metal bands (AKA Jock Metal/Rock) essentially making it a rapcore cd. The other difference is that the nu metal bands perform with the actual artists who initially performed the song. It is a pretty awesome deal if you are into it. Eg. as follows SOAD w Wu Tang , Sevendust w Exibit, and Static X w Ded Prez and many others...
