The two remaining Romanians have a bitter hatred of the Volturi coven, especially Jane and Alec (who they refer to as "the witch twins") because they were one of the main reasons the Volturi won. The Volturi rule better than the Romanians. One of the laws that the Volturi passed was to keep the existence of their kind a secret. Though many vampires questioned this at the time, it was totally worth it, as modern day humans could build things that could harm or kill a vampire.
