No one knows specifically how many artisans built the Terracotta Army, because the workers were believed to be buried alive after its completion. The Terracotta Army was part of Qin Shi Huan Di's tomb which is still yet to be completely uncovered to this day. Qin Shi Huan Di's tomb took ~36 years and hundreds of thousands of workers to build. Again, no exact figures are possible because it is believed the entire hundreds of thousands strong workforce was all buried alive/killed after the tomb was completed.
