a long time!!
It took about 456 people to build a castle
The number of people needed to build a castle can vary depending on the size and complexity of the castle. Historically, it could take hundreds or even thousands of laborers, craftsmen, and architects to build a castle over several years.
20,000
This really depends on the force that they were defending against, But generally speaking invasion forces would require three times the amount of men that would be defending the castle, due to the high casualty rate inflicted by the many defenses that the castle would have, such as oil and archers.
You need craftsman for the design of the castle.
it took a few months to build the simple Motte and bailey castles. These were the early models made of earth and timber. I guess the other ones made of stone would take longer. Hope that helps
It took about 10 years or maybe even more! And for a castle in the middle ages and how big they were I think it would take 25 years or more!
Just as the case of many others, there is no record of the construction of Warkworth Castle. We believe it is dated from the middle of the 11th century, but do not have any idea how long it took to build.
