1000 years.
The Third Reich was also referred to as the 1000 Year Reich.
The name Tausendjähriges Reich (Thousand-Year Reich), suggested that Nazi Germany would dominate Europe, and perhaps the world, for a thousand years. It did not!
The Third Reich.
Hitler wanted land for his Third Reich. His Third Reich was supposed to last for a thousand years. If so, you wouldn't have asked this question and I wouldn't have answerd it.
Hitler believed his empire would last forever. He referred to it as the 1000-Year Reich, so he expected it to last for at least a millennium.
Adolf Hitler
The Germans regarded the First Reich as the Holy Roman Empire (962-1806), and the Second Reich as the modern German Empire (1871-1918). Hitler proclaimed that his new Third Reich would last one thousand years, but it lasted only twelve.
He made no known prediction for his own rule, but he said that the regime that he established, the Third Reich, would last a thousand years.
Complicated question. Short answer: "No", because the "Thousand Year Reich" only lasted 12 years.
Yes, otherwise he wouldn't had become the leader of the Third Reich few years later.
Th Persians did, in fact their empires lasted longer than the Third Reich. But the Third Reich conquered faster in a few short years, but the Persians took alot of time.
It was referred to as the Third Reich for reasons unclear to this contributor. Although it was in power for only twelve years, Hitler had boasted that it would last for a thousand years, and I have heard it called the Thousand-Year Reich, but I am unaware if this term was used boastfully by the Nazis or sarcastically by the Allied victors. Perhaps another contributor can add more clarification.
