After this period, a female orangutan usually gives birth to a single infant, although twins can occur on rare occasions. The mother provides extensive care and nurturing for the infant, which can stay with her for several years before becoming independent.
Baby orangutan are treated poorly when they are in markets. they die before someone buys them as a pet. The hunters shoot the mom when they take the babies. Poor baby orangutan and poor moms who get shoot or get there baby taken away from them.
