Not years but decades. 92% of the energy produced in the U.S.comes from fossil fuels and nuclear energy. 25% from oil, 22% from coal, 22% from natural gas, and 8.4% from nuclear power. Only 8% comes from renewable sources. This countries' economy runs on fossil fuels and it will be a very long time before that changes. Take away that 92% and this country would collapse overnight.
