That's like asking how many years of experience do you need to President of the United States. It just depends. My mother has been a CEO since right about when I was born (so about 21 years) and she has a master degree from Standford and another one from UCLA (both in different subjects. I know one was international affairs, but I can't remember what the other was). Maybe you don't need two, but there's very little chance you'll become a CEO without an MA or MS. The more educated you are the better as CEO positions are extremely competitive and require a very intellectually stimulated person and if you can't handle the work involved getting a Masters degree, then you certainly would not be able to handle being a CEO. Just as an added note, my mother did not receive her BS in Business. She actually earned it in Psychology, and to be perfectly honest, I think that has helped her not only be as successful as she is today, but has helped her become so likable to her employees.
As for how much money, I assume you are asking how much money you make. That is entirely dependent on the company. The CEO of a major corporation will usually earn millions (I know you can look this information up for many major corporations, such as GM and Ford. While their 'salaries' may not always be in the millions, do not forget that they earn bonuses, and that can sometimes be worth more than the salary itself).
As for smaller business, you're looking at the early/middle $100,000's, which is still quite a bit of money. My mom's current company (which is technically a 'failing' company, since her job focus is specifically to take over failing companies and turn them around) would have paid her around $200,000 for the CEO position, but she's also acting as the CFO so she actually makes more than that. And if that barely alive company can fork over 200 grand to a CEO, I have to assume profitable companies pay much more than that.
Hope that helped! Many of the CEO's that I have known have worked their way up to that position. In fact, I don't think I have ever met someone who didn't make it that way. The point it, if you are planning on being a CEO one day, don't expect it to happen right away unless you either extremely lucky or you have connections (which help).
CEOs, Chief Executive Officers, can have varied backgrounds, depending on the industry in which they are working. However, a minimum of a bachelor's degree is usually required for this executive position and many have degrees in business management.
You need an MBA so 6 Years after High school But However there are still some who do it with an Undergrad only which Ofcourse is only 4 years
It takes about eight years to become a CEO.
You could be a CEO without a college degree,
As late apple CEO Steve Jobs.
To be a CEO you have to move up the at a giving corporation and know the politics game
The amount will vary depending upon the company they work for. Many of them will have at least a bachelor's degree, which is 4 years of college.
It doesn't depend on schooling. It depends on skill, judgment and luck!
If by CEO you mean a "college educated ostrich", then a pretty long time.
...the Devil loves you, too.
