It depends on a person's background and the school that they would attend to say how long it takes to be a physician assistant (PA). The majority of PA programs are Master's programs. They are typically two years after the student has received their undergraduate degree.

However, some school have a accelerated program for high school seniors entering college. This program is typically a five year program where the student starts their graduate phase of study their senior year of their college career.

There are also a few associate or bachelor degree programs for a PA degree.
