A desert cactus may be described as unused to competition from other vegetative forms. It's the main and most important vegetative form in the bright, drab, dry, extreme, harsh, hostile desert environment. It also may be described as the source of beauty; energy, soil and water conservation; and light dispersion in the desert. It may be described, too, as the survivor of high heat and light, and low moisture.
