In Romeo and Juliet, the Prologue discloses that Romeo and Juliet are going to die at the end of the play. This sounds like a spoiler. However, a lot of people may have known the story from Arthur Brooke's poem, and any of them who noticed that the play was called "The Lamentable Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet" would know that no happy ending was forthcoming. So essentially, there was no suspense to eliminate. People didn't watch to find out how the play turned out; the watched to see how they got there. Let's be honest here: did anyone who watched the film The Mighty Ducks have the slightest doubt that the team in question would win the championship? Of course not--but they watched it anyway.
Technically, yes, Juliet dies a virgin in Shakespeare's play "Romeo and Juliet." Despite being married to Romeo, the consummation of their marriage is never explicitly stated in the text. So, in the end, poor Juliet meets her tragic demise without ever getting down and dirty.

You mean "Why does Capulet NOT let Juliet choose who she marries?" In many cultures around the world, people, especially young people, do not arrange their own marriages. India is a great example. The same situation applied to the society being represented in the play. Indeed, even in countries where people generally choose the people they marry, people who are not yet adults (who are, for example, thirteen like Juliet) may not marry without the consent of the parents, who have every right to oppose the proposed marriage. And that is certainly what the Capulets would have said about the idea of marrying Juliet to Romeo. Romeo, Juliet and the Friar hoped that if it was shown that they had not only gone through a form of marriage, but that they had consummated it by having sex, the Capulets would be forced to accept the situation. That is why they kept the marriage secret.
