Any GM engine only has 1 thermostat. On the 4 cyl, many people get confused as to its location. It is not in the upper radiator hose / housing on the engine. This looks like it should be ther, but it is not. It is actually on the back of the motor, under the exhaust manifold. Have had some people put a thermostat in the housing on the top that looks like it should have a thermostat. This caused overheating problems. TechJK ----------------------------------------------
The warning chimes on a 2003 Chevy Malibu may not work if the fuses are blown. The fuse box is usually located on the inside of the car under the dash.
There is no transmission dip stick. On the drivers side under the thermostat housing you have a red cap, that is your fill tube for the transmission. TJMAN DALLAS GA I'm not sure where it is located, but i know on alot of newer Chevy cars that there may not be one, because the transmission system is sealed.
It may or may not have a block heater. If it does then the power cord will be located near the battery behind the grill.
It may not have one. Some GM transmissions are sealed for life.
Check your heater core and thermostat. The thermostat may be stuck open. Does the S10 run hot or cold?
Do the electric cooling fans kick on?
Just a serpentine belt. May have to remove a motor mount in order to change it, that varies by the year.
Unless there is an access panel in the trunk you will have to remove the fuel tank. I would check with your Chevy dealer, as this may still be under warranty.
Maybe never,But if you let your brake pads wear out to where the brakes are grinding,You may have to.
No, but a Chevy dealer can. The light is on because there is a problem with the system. Get this fixed immediately or you may have an accident.
If they are both 3100 engines...yes. Direct swap. The only thing you MAY have to change would be the motor mounts.
This may seem silly at first but, follow the upper radiator hose it's terminal end. There you will find your thermostat. Hope this helps. Sean
