How much is too much Adderall?

If you are taking more than your prescribed dosage, that is too much. Adderall is an extremely addictive and physically debilitating drug.

For people who genuinely need Adderall, such as those who suffer from ADHD, the drug can be the only thing standing between them and a normal life. However, if you do NOT suffer from ADHD, Adderall affects you much differently. You can quickly become dependent on the High and the physical effects are devastating (heart attack, stroke, sudden death, discoloration of the skin, mouth sores, swollen extremities, insomnia, anorexia, etc.) They are also not easy to hide! The onset of addiction is extremely fast and can occur within only a few uses. The physical effects begin with your first use.

That being said, I am an athletic, 21 year old male taking 50mg of Adderall XR daily. I could probably take more, but 50mg works perfectly fine for me. You should consult with your doctor about the correct dosage for you and you should follow his instructions. Nothing is guaranteed when you're dealing with Amphetamines.

And if you are using Adderall illicitly, or considering it, I beg you to reconsider! The boost in confidence and motivation you feel from using this drug is strong, yet inevitably does not last forever. Once you gain a tolerance for this drug, it will own you. The positive effects slowly give in to the negative. Eventually you will be taking the drug only to keep from feeling the pain this drug can cause. I have seen too many friends turn into husks of their former selves because of this drug, and most still have not recovered completely. Sorry for ranting.

The amount of Adderall you take depends upon your weight and age. The maximum amount for adults is 90 to 120 milligrams. I would recommend taking less than 90 or not taking any at all. Adderall contains salts, therefore, too much salt in the body can cause a number is side affects.

Interesting question. I used to take INSTANT RELEASE Generic "Adderal" or dextro-amphetamine I would never take more than 100mg or about 3 and 1/3 tablet at ONE time, that dose would work for 5-7hours-then I would do it all over again!However if you have the ADDERAL XR then it is basically the same affect if you open the capsule and chew up the granules BUT....unless you have too, get the INSTANT, not Extended Release....Just my opinion!

Yes. That's a lot of Adderall. No physician would prescribe that large of an amount to anyone. A normal dosage for someone with ADD varies from 10 to 30 milligrams twice a day.
