Hair tonic is a product that was created to help style hair. Today different products such as mousse and gel are used more often because the tonic was known to make the hair look slightly oily.
For styiling,I hear it was Rose oil hair tonic on top, Butch wax in front, and Vaseline on the sides. Other sites mentioned that he used 3 products but wouldn't say what. Most sites just talked about what dye he used.
Yes you can Use Vaseline in your hair but its Hard to get out since its Waterproof. The only way to get it out is Cornstarch or Dawn Dishsoap
Using Vaseline on your hair can weigh it down and make it look greasy. It can also be difficult to wash out completely, leading to buildup and potentially clogging the hair follicles. It's best to use hair products specifically formulated for hair care.
You can purchase hair cream locally at your local department store, specialty hair products store or even a salon. Some hair creams are available at a drug/discount store as well.

Chesebourgh Ponds still holds the Trademark for Vaseline Hair Tonic, unfortunately, it's been discontinued in the United States. It's my understanding that it's still available in Australia and some other parts of the World. You can still buy Imported bottles on eBay and from www.solrus.com/hair.HTML. Suave was the last US company to manufacture the product under license to Chesebourgh Ponds. If you buy on Ebay make sure it carries a trademark license and it's not a cheap Chinese import that is not regulated.
