Lower Hutt is a city in New Zealand, lying north of Wellington Harbour. Named after the Hutt family, as was the river which flows through it. There is also Upper Hutt, a smaller city (in population), but large in area.
It is in Western Australia. 600 Km north of Perth.
The Hutt Valley is the large area of fairly flat land in the Hutt River valley in the Wellington region of New Zealand.
There is no island state in Western Australia. However, there is the Hutt River Province Principality, a 75 square kilometre farming property, about 595 km north of Perth. It was founded on 21 April 1970 by farmer Leonard George Casley when he and his family and associates proclaimed their secession from Western Australia, due to conflict over unreasonable wheat quotas. Casley used a provision in British common law which he understood allowed him to secede and declare independence from the Commonwealth of Australia. Casley became the self-styled His Royal Highness Prince Leonard of Hutt. There are very few permanent residents, but the principality claims to have a world-wide citizenship of 13,000. Exports of Hutt River include wildflowers, agricultural produce, stamps and coins, while tourism is also important to its economy. Neither Australia nor any other country publicly recognises the Province.
