In the US, the iPhone is now only $99. However the 3GS just came out and it is $200. But if you have a 3G, you can update it on your computer and it will have some of the same features as the new 3GS. I did mine and now I have voice memos, copy and paste, forward messaging, I can turn my phone sideways to text, phone search, and a few little things look different. Like the text icon and a button on the camera. So, I would say if you don't already have an iPhone, get the 3G and just update it, unless you want every feature.
