Dogs can be given one milligram for every pound of weight, of regular strength Benadryl every 8-12 hours. For a 30 pound dog, you can try one 25mg tablet twice a day, to see if the slightly lower dose controls your dog's symptoms. You could also use Children's liquid regular strength Benadryl. Notice I say "children's", regular liquid Benadryl! Regualr liquid Benadry has too high an alcohol content to be safely used for animals.
My vet has advised 1 mg of benadryl for each pound your dog weighs. So, one 25 mg pill should be enough.
My vet says that you should give one milligram per pound. So for a 30 pound dog, 30 mg.
Don't give it!!! Go call a veterinarian.
Actually the dose for a dog of that size is 1 mg. per pound...so essentially he can have 30 mg.
i been reading some sites..they say its 1mg per pound...so about ...3..more or less..cuz...3 would be 75...some vets say they can take up to 2mg per lb..so it...thats..my best guest..
You can give 0.5-1mg of benadryl per pound
It depends on the dosage of Benadryl (Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride (HCL)). The recommended dosage is 1-2mg per lb of the dog. So your 20lb pug would need approximately 20-40mg. The standard Benadryl tablet is 25mg. So give your dog roughly 1-1.5 Benadryl tablets every 8-12 hours as needed for symptoms.
Can I give Childrens Benadryl with Childrens Nyquil?
can diabetic take benadryl
No.
You shouldn't give an animal liquid benadryl. The liquid formula has too much alcohol in it and could cause alcohol poisoning. The dose for benadryl tablets is 1 mg per pound three times a day. Generally benadryl comes in 25 mg tablets , so you can cut one in half for your dog. It generally does only a fair job for itching in dogs. If the problem persists make and appointment with your vet.
You can give him benadryl, call your vet for the right dose.
No
My dog has allergies and the vet recommended Children's Benadryl tablet formula. You give 1mg per pound of the dog. So a 15 lb dog would get 15mg. However, the tablets for children come as 12.5mg. One tablet seems to work fine for my 15lb dog. Hope this helps!
Not a good idea.
