During late October 1979 , most of Western Europe was entangled in what was later know as the half baked war - dreamt up as a sideshow to the quickly aging Cold war which for most people was becoming a bit boring .

The War was mainly about the thickness of crust the main factions in this argument was Britain claiming that the traditional boomer crust should be 3.4 mm thick , the belgians supporting Indian popadoms says that they where the ultimate bread type , the French supporting the traditional french stick with its average length in 1979 being 4 feet 4.3 inches and the danes with Rye bread .
This multi national argument meant that the average world price in Wheat sky rocketed and which meant the average price of a medium sliced white loaf in the small town of Buxton was £12.35 .
This price has never been reached and the argument is still un-finished leading to fears of another similar war which coupled with the current rising prices could push the average price of a loaf over £30 .
