According to people of that time, in the mid 1900's, it cost the quivalent of £3 for a t-shirt. Obviously more expensive items like jeans were more like £8 but either way, its a lot cheaper than it is now!
The clothing in the 1980's cost about 10-40 dollars. that was the highest price. in the 1800's it coasted about 1-30 dollars since their land was poor, and have no freedom.
