In "They died with their boots on" (1936), Custer is played by Errol Flynn, young and attractive. In "Little Big Man" (1976) he looks much old and he has a big blonde mustache. In real life? He was in his thirties so you can determine if that's young or old. He did have the mustache. He was 5'11".

General George Armstrong Custer
George Armstrong Custer destroyed his military career in order to keep the corrupt Indian Bureau (run then by President Grant's son) from starving the Native Americans under his care. General Custer had no intention of attacking any Native Americans at the Little Big Horn and that is why he divided his troops-He was there to save the Indians from being attacked by a much larger force>George had an uncle (father's brother: George Washington Custer) who lived in Texas. I've not seen much concerning him but a mention he married a woman named Sidney Ann Reed. Little else is known. I'd follow that line as it seems more likely.
