The biggest area of progress was in doctors and training because they had the works of Galen as the bass for all the medical training which they could later build on. However the large amount of progress made was really down to Vesalius as he carried out dissections and wrote a book which increased the understanding of anatomy. He also made many more discoveries such as that the jaw bone was made up of only one bone. The fact that universities and medical schools were founded in the 12th century meant that they could do even more research to add to their knowledge. The printing press helped a lot as it meant that they could take in so much information in a time period.
