The Mona Lisa is the most famous painting in the world, painted by Leonardo da vinci. You can't buy The Mona Lisa because it is on display in the Louvre Museum in Paris France and is considered priceless.
It is priceless which means that it cannot be bought for any amount of money.
it's priceless but if it were for sale it would approximately sell for around 700 million us dollars!
Vincenzo Peruggia's motive for stealing the Mona Lisa from the Louvre was to return the painting to Italy because he hoped the Italian government would give him a reward. Peruggia wanted to return the painting to its native land because he believed that all the Italian art in the Louvre had been stolen by Napoleon -- including the Mona Lisa. Peruggia selected the Mona Lisa because she was small and easy to carry. Unfortunately for Peruggia, the Mona Lisa had not been stolen by Napoleon at all. It came to France with Leonardo da Vinci when he went there to work at the court of King Francis I. King Francis either purchased the Mona Lisa from da Vinci or from one of his heirs.
He is believed to have made about 30 paintings. He kept one of them, so he had sold the others.
As far as we know, all of them (about 30), except 'Mona Lisa', which he chose to keep.
In 1911 Vincenzo Peruggia wrapped his painter's smock around the Mona Lisa and carried it out of the Louvre under his arm. He kept the painting in his apartment in Paris, hidden in a box. In December 1913, after contacting an Italian art dealer, he brought the painting by train to Milan, then to Florence, where he attempted to sell it to the art dealer and the Uffizi Gallery. Instead he was arrested.
His best works from about 1909/1910 are expected to cost around 20 million USD.

how much ?????
Yes you can print a picture of the Mona Lisa and hang it. As long as you are not trying to sell the picture and you want it for your private use like in your home or office this is not illegal. After all this is just a print out and not the original.
This is something art historians have wondered about for centuries and tried to find a good reason. There is at present no answer agreed upon by everybody.
