For classical Guitars there are several factors that determine the price: selection and quality of the wood, luthier and building process, history of the instrument, tuners, rosette, etc. For electric guitars the selection of the wood is not as important as the pick-ups and other electronic equipment that comes with it. Today, classical guitars tend to be more expensive than electric guitars, but that is due to the higher difficulty that goes into their construction.

∙ 15y agoHow long is a peice of string. Spend over £500 and you'll no doubt get a guitar you will want to keep for life. Anything between £100 to £250 will be a robust decent guitar to get you started. Less than £100 and it is likely the intonation will be out and the neck will give you skelfs. Horses for courses!
