The 800-mile-long Trans Alaska Pipeline System is one of the largest pipeline systems in the world. It stretches from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Valdez, Alaska
Welders in Australia make different amounts depending on the types of welding. On average, for a first class welder they can make as much as $1.320 a week.
It cost 8 billion dollars to construct the Port of Valdez, the pumping stations and 800 miles of 48 inch pipeline.
Welders make between 40,000 and $51,000 per year. Salaries for experienced welders range from $50,000 to $67,000. Welders can also make overtime which adds to their pay.
About 17 cars and 32 girders.
a ua welder who is "chasing money" can make upwards of 120'000/ year
None of it. When the Trans Alaska Pipeline was constructed it was illegal to ship any of the oil from Alaska to other countries. Then during the Clinton Administration when oil was $8 a barrel, that law was changed. For 2 years Alyeska Pipeline Terminal shipped to Japan and South Korea a total of 5 times. They decided that this was not cost effective and now they no longer ship there. This was years ago. Now all the oil goes to refineries in Washington State, California and Hawaii. It provides most of the fuel in the Northwestern States. None of it leaves the country. I have this information because I live in Valdez, Alaska. Where the end of the Trans Alaska Pipeline is located and the oil is shipped from. I receive my information from locals including family members who work at the Alyeska Pipeline Terminal (some of who are managers).
As of 2014, the average hourly wage for welders in Canada is $22.80. The average yearly salary for welders in Canada is $40,000. The rate is higher for more experienced welders.
