A horse or pony should be fed between 1% to 3% of it's bodyweight in food a day. The base of the diet should always be forage such as hay or grass, with supplemental feeds added if they are needed.
As with any horse they eat according to their weight /size and the work they do...For example (this is one way I do it)...serve about 1 pound per hand...if the horse is around 14 hands high then you (theoretically) would give it 13-14 pounds of hay per day and 20 to 30 ounces of grain a day (corn, oats, barley).
Well. Are they being worked out? If so, Then maybe 1/2 of a pund, and If not maybe 1/3 a pund. But the best way to find out is to ask your vet.
a minitue gorse would eat estimate of 2 scoops of grain for breckfast 1 flack of hay for lunch and maybe 1 scoop of grain for dinner!
about half as much as a normal horse of one flake from a hay bale a day.
2 scoops of pelets are good or a flake of hay
Tht will depend on the minis' weight. Weigh the horse divide the weight by 100 and then multiply that answer by2.0 to get the amount in pounds that it should be eating.
no
Miniature horses eat what regular horses eat grass horse feed etc. Just smaller amounts. Goats will eat plants weeds and grass.
They eat the same thing regualr sized horses do just less of it.
Horses (all horses) need 1.5%-3% of their body weight in forage per day as a base for their diets.
Horses get fat on grass when they eat too much or it. Grass is the primary food they were designed to eat. It has all the nutrients and calories they need. Overeating makes everyone fat.
horses eat hay, apples, carrots, and some times grapes. hopes this helps!!!
I have a miniature dachsund myself and they only get to be about 12 pound at the most. Regular dachsunds would get up to 15 pounds. My dachsund is small for a miniature and she will get to be about 7 pounds 10 at the most. But you have to watch how much they eat because these type dogs are prone to being obese. If given a choice they will eat and eat and eat.
It's ok for horses to eat some Daisy's but too much of anything can be bad so just be sure they don't eat too much.
How much grain a horse eats depends on how much work it is doing. Horses that do not do any work usually don't need any grain, just hay and grass. Some horses that are hard to keep weight on need grain, even if they don't do much work.
What ever you give them and what ever grass they can eat!
All horses are different, and that means they eat different amts. of food. Some horses will eat until they get sick, and some may not eat enough. Therefore, there is no specific amt. for horses to eat.
Technically yes, horses can eat golden syrup. However it is not recommended that you give it to them as it is pure sugar and horses do not need added sugar in their diet. If you wish to sweeten a horses feed, a teaspoon or two of honey is best followed by either liquid or powdered molasses. Too much sugar in a horses diet can cause health problems and should be avoid as much as possible.
