No idea, but if you're considering getting into Mary Kay, a word of advice from me:
Don't.
The heyday of Mary Kay, and the other businesses that rely on a "party" sales model, was sixty years ago. Back then there was no Walmart. There weren't huge malls in every decent-sized city. There was no internet. Women would gather at one of their friends' homes to attend a Tupperware party, or a Mary Kay party, or whatever.
Now? You can get makeup in lots of places. There are even specialty makeup stores like Ulta. If you wanted some purple glitter eyeshadow for a date next Friday, would you (1) go to a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant, pay $10 for it and wait a week for it to show up (assuming, of course, the IBC doesn't have three or four thousand dollars worth of essentially unsalable cosmetics that have been in her spare bedroom for the last God only knows how long; remember, this stuff has a shelf life) or (2) go to the M*A*C counter at the local mall or the Smashbox display at Ulta, spend $15 and have the product on your eyes that afternoon? I know which I'd choose, and it would take a LOT to convince me to wear glitter eyeshadow.
Another comment: When I was working at Home Depot one of my coworkers bought a Mary Kay kit and really tried hard to make a go of it. She had the personality for Mary Kay, and if anyone would have done well with it, it was her. What really killed her attempt to do well with Mary Kay? She didn't like how the product felt on her face and wouldn't wear it. She'd go through this huge script about how wonderful Mary Kay's makeup is, and no one would buy it because you could tell she wasn't really believing it. (I thought this was even more humorous: I knew a realtor who decided to start selling Avon, and failed miserably. The lady didn't wear ANY makeup...which, to me, is kind of a prerequisite when you sell it.)
If you want to sell makeup without a massive investment, get a job at a department store cosmetics counter or at Ulta. If you want a business doing makeovers, get your business and esthetics licenses and open a salon. Sadly, multilevel schemes like Mary Kay are like auto racing: the easiest way to end up with a million dollars in them is to start with two million.
