Where I work its 3.15 an hour before tips. But trust me they make a lot more then the other staff by the end of the night and most of them don't think they have to do anything but wait on their tables and it left up to the cooks to cash out people and answer the phones....plus cooking the food!

-----------------------------------------

I also work at a Pizza Hut.

I make $2.35/hour before tips. I usually make $20-$40 in tips per shift (a shift is about 6 hours).

At our store, we usually only have one waitress per shift, and the server is also the primary person assigned to phones. Our servers also perform more than 50% of cash outs... so we are running our butts off all night.

Most nights I also wind up helping the cooks by cutting and boxing food orders, and sometimes helping out on the "make table" when they get behind.

We also have the most "outs" or chores to do at the end of the night, and many of them can't be completed until the store is empty of customers.

But I wouldn't mind all this hard work if my income, including my tips, averaged about $9-10/hour.

My advice is don't try to make money as a waitress in any town where the majority of the population is unemployed or on welfare. I'm just gald to have job at all right now.
