No. This is a myth. Adults have much more venom.
Bought one for my son, weighs 26 lbs. Measured with a digital scale.
The Western Diamondback comes equipped with a spade-shaped head, a fiendish fang and venom system, elliptical pupils and heat-sensing facial pits. It has reserve fangs to replace any which break off in a victim. The venom causes extensive tissue damage, bleeding and swelling in humans.
There are some species that are small and adults may weigh just a few ounces while some larger species, such as the eastern diamondback, has a record weight of 34 pounds but the average is much less.
In answer to your question, yes. They can kill though they rarely kill adult humans. it has to do with the amount of venom the snake injects, the ensuing activities, and the health/allergies of the person who was bitten. On average there or sever or serious consequences even some long term effects, but with proper care and treatment, these can be minimized easily.

A contest was held by the Arizona Republic newspaper to name the team. Diamondbacks won as the Western Diamondback is a rattlesnake that is native to Arizona and can injure and kill animals much larger and stronger due to the poisonous venom it injects into the victim when it bites.
