I am a freight conductor for csx. My guarantee on the extraboard is $2900 every two weeks to be on call 24hrs day/6 days a wek. I get this if I work or not. Generally I run about 2-3 trains a week. When I work the freight pool I usually earn on average about $3200 every two weeks but its not a guaranteed board and I will usually run about 5 trains a week. Engineers on my division on average make around $4400-$4700 every two weeks and a lot of times a little more. These figures vary based on carrier and location.
I profession football season has each team playing 16 games and having 1 week off. (This is called a bye week) Followed by playoffs. First week wildcards, 2nd week semi-conference, 3rd week conference finals. There is usally another week off then the Super Bowl. After that there is a All-star game just for fun. All together it is 4 weeks for preseason, 17 weeks for the season, 5 weeks for playoffs and Super Bowl, and 1 week for the All-star game.
