Does a career transition from medical transcription to clinical research make good sense?

It depends if that is what you want to do. MTs do extensive research in their jobs so that transition sounds reasonable. Good luck to you! Any kind of career change is going to be good as long as it is going to make you happy (or at least it's benefits). Most people that I know who wants to change fields or jobs are either not happy with their current ones or they just want one who has better benefits (pay) It depends on what clinical research you are talking about. If you are researching subject material for a physician or other medical professional, it would make great sense. Learning and working as a medical transcriptionist can open many doors for you. The above is a good ans. However, if you are really interested in "clinical research you will need to get at least a lab tech degree.
