Yes, it is very easy to use a slide up phone. You just hold it, and push up the screen. Some phone's that are touchscreen can be used without the slide out keyboard. Other phones need to be slid up so that you can have access to the keyboard.
A good example of an LG slide phone is the LG CF360. The slide phone is slim and lightweight so it's easy to carry around in your pocket or handbag without weighing it down. The phone also has many features such as 3G, music playing capabilities and a 1.3 megapixel camera.
Siemens invented the first Slide Phone in 2009 or earlier.
The Pantech Jest is a compact phone with a slide out keyboard. One of the biggest pros is that it is free with a contract. However, the optical pad can be annoying to some.
It doesn't slide.

This same problem happened to me! I convinced my mom to get me a phone because I was constantly away from the house at school, traveling sports, and at friends houses and it was a hassel always using friend's cell phones! So finally, my mom agreed that I could get a phone but would have to have a hami down one(not a surprise). We have tmobile and since I was getting a new phone/sim card for the first time(I think theirs a 5 dollar/month family plan added line deal now!), the guy gave me a new phone as well. For free! I had a choice of a slide up, red flip, etc(10-20 dollars normally but I got it for free). I choose the red flip phone and enjoyed using it! Finally after my two year contract I got the sidekick slide! Hope this helps!
It is a PCS Phone and there are lots of Phones that are related to Pcs phone. They slide up, slide sideways, and they flip
