Depends on how big it is, the hoof alone doesn't weigh much, probably between 1 and 1.5 pounds.
there is not a "Purpose" for the white line in a horses hoof, it is much like a birth mark on us
Founder is a very serious hoof condition in horses. It is sometimes caused by eating too much sweet grass. The inside of the hoof (navicular) begins to deteriorate and if left unattended the hoof could get to a point where it falls off. The hoof becomes deformed if not treated within a certain amount of time and the poor horse is left walking on an uneven, crippled hoof.
A horses head averages to be 2-6 ponds large depending on actual size of horse.
An average nile crocodile will weigh 500 kg (1100 lbs)
It depends on the breed and hoof wall stimulation and health of the hoof really. But in general, 1/4-1/2 a inch a month. Drafts tend to grow hoof wall a lot faster. I work on a draft cross mare's hooves and she grows about an inch of hoof wall in four weeks. For Howrse Archimedes question: 1/4 - 1/2 inch. :)

Prehistoric horses were much smaller. The horses we see today have one toe ( the hoof) and a remnant of another (the chestnut). Horses from that time had multiple toes, and as they evolved, they had less and less toes. To answer your question, that would be no. Horses in these periods are much faster that they were then.
they can weigh anywhere from 2000 - 2600 pounds!!
The frog should not have outgrown the hoof. If the frog appears too large for the hoof, that likely means the farrier took too much hoof off. You should call you equine vet and have them come out and see if the horse may need a farrier that specializes in this type of issue.
