I have owned a 2002 Mercedes G500 for almost five years. It is not an inexpensive vehicle to maintain. An oil change a the dealership willl cost approximately $125. Of course it uses 8 or 9 quarts of Mobil 1 oil, so that is the reason it costs more. However, you can go 10.000 miles between oil changes. Other maintenance is now cheap either. However, I have not experienced a high level of problems. For example a brake job will cost $325. I even checked places like Firestone, Just Brakes, etc. They were only $10 less than the dealership or in some cases more expensive. So, I let the dealership do it. Love my G-Wagon. However, the mileage is terrible, but it will probably last 20 years and it does get a lot of attention.
